This week, the Chicago Sun-Times and Resurrection Health Care is set to hold a city-wide effort to get children signed up for coverage from the state’s children’s health insurance program, All Kids.
The All Kids health care program provides coverage for uninsured children in low-income families, who do not qualify for Medicaid.
The state offers Premiums for All Kids coverage depend on income of the household. The lowest earners pay no monthly premiums  $15 per month for one child for higher incomes.
The 1,000 Healthy Kids & Families Campaign will try to enroll 1,000 children in the All Kids health insurance program in just one day.
That day will be this Saturday, June 21.
But to achieve their goal, the campaign would need volunteers.
More than 300 helpers would be needed to assist families fill out forms and applications, reported the Chicago Sun-Times.
And the Healthy Kids & Families Campaign got them  over 400 people signed on this week to pitch in.
“We are very excited that so many have decided to contribute their time and energy to make the campaign a success,†said the Reverend Michael Place, senior vice president of Resurrection Health Care.
